You would think that the country would be a quite serene place (and yes it usually is) but NOT tonight! I have an uncle and two nephews up a cabbage tree and they are making a hell of a din! Oh did I mention that one of the noisy culprits doesn't actually know that he's related to the other two. Did I also mention that they are all cat's, noisy one's at that! "Heaven's to Murgitroid"
I've been sooo enjoying making this 'Acanthus' pattern and have many a plan for it . I do think it could drive me some what potty if used as a wallpaper though, perhaps it should come with a warning. I do love a bit of acanthus!
I am pleased to announce that Snorkel has a new home. So for all those Snorkel fans I thought I'd place some last photos of the wee lad in all his clothed wonder farewell and enjoy your new abode young Snorkel from all of us who have been blessed by your character and company.
Thanks to the 'Banks Peninsula Tui Restoration' project.
We will soon be hearing, one of the seven best songsters in the world, again on the old volcano. So get planting those native nectar trees, to welcome back one of New Zealands favorite sons, on his homecoming tour, beginning April 2009, in a tree near you.
'NERVOUS KIWI'
You would be too, if you needed help to survive!
...it is true that New Zealanders treasure their Kiwi but it has not been treasured enough... ...poor Kiwi. Everybody, it seems to want a piece of him, cars, cats and dogs, ferrets, possums, rats... ...not to mention the loss of his habitat too. ...what's a wee guy to do... kick?
'PEEVED HUIA'
Well you would be too if you were extinct!
...All because people wanted you todecorated their homes and museums in England... ...Then there was King George V, who wore one of your tail feathers in his hat, so of course everyone else wanted one too! Not surprisingly the poor New Zealand Huia become extinct...
Here's images of an elaborate Celtic-flavored little number that I kinda got carried away with, I rather like this one! If you would like to see these above images in more detail, just click on them.
I thought you people may like to see some further example of other of my felt projects, so here they are. The following images are mostly felt work that I have made for gifts . I had loads of fun making them for friends and family last Christmas. They seem to have grown more and more detailed as time went on!
This little duck guy needed to stand on spindly legs, so wire was needed all through his body to add support.
